A New Chapter Begins: New Bedford EMS Unveils It’s Fall EMT Program

New Bedford EMS  has something exciting stirring in the world of emergency services. New Bedford EMS has officially announced its Fall 2025 EMT Program, offering a new generation of lifesavers the opportunity to step into the world of emergency medicine. For many, this is more than just a class—it’s a doorway to a career.

It begins on September 9th 2025 , when classrooms at the New Bedford EMS Training Academy will once again fill with aspiring EMTs. Some will be fresh out of school, others mid-career changers seeking meaning. All will arrive with one goal: to learn how to save lives.

The program is designed with busy people in mind. Evening classes—held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m.—fit neatly around jobs and family. For hands-on learning, eight Saturday sessions (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) are built in, giving students time to practice with simulation labs to perfect their skills. Classes run about four months.

And these aren’t just any skills—they’re the fundamentals of life-saving work: assessing patients, managing medical and trauma emergencies , controlling bleeding, administering oxygen and medication and responding to emergencies with calm precision.

Tuition for the course is $1,350, which covers textbooks, online materials, an American Heart Association certification class. Students can pay upfront, or ease in with a $300 deposit and enroll in a payment plan (with a small additional fee). For New Bedford residents, there’s good news: a tuition discount may be available, part of the city’s effort to invest in its own community’s safety and opportunity.

As summer winds down and September approaches, the academy doors will open again—and when they do, the next class of EMTs will begin their journey.

Some of them will save lives. All of them will be changed. Sign up now and reserve your spot.  Click here EMT Courses – Form
